Finding Beauty in the Everyday
KP Studio is all about finding beauty in the little things. Growing up in the Hampshire countryside, I was always drawn to the textures and tones of the natural world—think mossy tree trunks, weathered stones, and muddy fields (the squelchy kind). That love of nature has definitely snuck its way into my ceramics, with earthy textures, muted colours, and patterns that feel organic and grounded.
I originally studied printmaking at the University of Brighton, but clay soon stole my heart. Bringing my love of lino-cutting into ceramics felt like the perfect match—carving bold patterns and pressing them into the soft, squidgy surface of clay is just so satisfying. These days, I focus on creating pieces that celebrate the beauty of imperfection. No mass production here—just slow, thoughtful making with as little waste as possible.
My collections are a bit like a diary. Each one reflects a memory, a story, or just me playing around with new clays, stains, or glazes (usually while covered in a fine layer of dust). The result? One-of-a-kind homewares with a bit of character—perfect for those who like their mugs, bowls, and vases with a side of personality.
I like to think my pottery is for anyone who loves the feel of something handmade, the charm of wobbly edges, and the idea of slowing down to enjoy the small things in life. There’s always something new brewing in the studio, so stay tuned—you never know what’ll come out of the kiln next!
